2021 Guard Josiah Mackey

Josiah Mackey is a 5’10” point guard for the Anna Coyotes, a large 4A school North of the metroplex. Josiah’s game has grown over the last year with his overall basketball IQ and his unbelievable work ethic. Coaches in the district recognized this and awarded him newcomer of the year in district 14-4A. He plays much bigger than his size due to his strength and overall explosion. He can score from all 3 levels with the ability to stretch the floor from deep shooting 40% from 3 in district and using his craftiness to score over longer defenders inside. He does a great job of reading the floor and understands how to get into the paint. Defensively he has become a great on the ball defender that wreaks havoc on opposing teams ball handlers averaging 1.4 steals a game. Josiah has a 3.2 GPA and will take his ACT/SAT this fall. Josiah is a great young man who has become a leader both on and off the floor. A huge senior year awaits him and the Coyotes!
